Figs actually have two seasons in North America; one in late spring and one in early fall. Autumn figs are perfect for experimenting with different cooking techniques and flavor profiles. We are in love with the savory, sweet combo of goat cheese, honey, and Herbes de Provence in these grilled figs. Not everyone can find fresh figs at their local store, which is why we're crazy for this dried fig chutney—spiced with cardamom, anise seed, and crystallized ginger.
Figs and Rose Water Yogurt
Rose Water
Having learned from the Persians how to extract essential oils from rose petals for culinary and medicinal purposes, the Greeks and Romans planted rose gardens just as they did croplands.
Herbes de Provence
The scent of Provence in a bottle, these classic Mediterranean herbs, dried at their peak, add summery redolence to rabbit, poultry, and ratatouille. We love it with goat cheese in stuffed figs.
