Chilled fruit and fresh spices are the perfect flavor combo for picnics in the shade, treats beside the pool, or dinner on the patio. We compiled three of our favorite spicy fruit dishes to toss into your summer recipe rotation.

Chile-Mango Ice Pops Ancho chile's rich, earthy flavor complements mango's fruity brightness. A splash of fresh lime juice, a spot of honey, and the optional habanero pepper send this dessert recipe over the top.

Long Pepper Long pepper has a history as rich as black pepper, but it is more complex in flavor. Notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger make it an all-around spicier pepper. Use it for Ayurvedic recipes, as well as many Indonesian and Malaysian ones. Peppercorns pair surprisingly well with fresh strawberries and fennel. Ancho Chile Powder Ancho chile powder is made from sweet and earthy chilies, that are mildly hot. The chiles are native to Puebla, Mexico. Along with chocolate, these chiles form the base of a popular mole. We like pairing ancho chiles with pureed mangoes, lime juice, and wildflower honey for a tangy frozen treat.

Korintje Ground Cassia Cinnamon This is the classic, comforting cinnamon flavor we all know: smooth, warm, and mellow. Korintje Cinnamon is the cinnamon of choice for commercial bakeries because of its flavor and flexibility.
