A drone-killing superweapon. Lockheed Martin's Joint-Air-to-Ground (JAGM) missile is designed for tanks, but it just shot straight up and swatted a drone out of the sky. During a January test at China Lake, JAGM pulled off a 90-degree vertical launch and proved it can now intercept aerial threats. It's a preview of how the Pentagon wants to build layered defenses in an era of cheap drones. The catch? At roughly $720k a shot, the math isn't quite mathing.
The 300 million-year-old Tyrannoroter heberti had an extra set of conical-shaped teeth, indicating it likely ate plants. It's one of the earliest species to do so.
