A camp hidden in the sky. While the Romans conquered much of the known world, this recent discovery is a good reminder of just how far—and how high—they were willing to go. Archaeologists in Switzerland uncovered a 2,000-year-old Roman military camp perched 7,000 feet up in the Alps, with fortifications and sling bullets stamped by the 3rd Legion. It's a glimpse of an army that treated even the Alps as just another position to hold.
